Prep to Year Four students will be focusing on the Perma Patch as their Message Stick Area this semester. Here are a few of the rolls on offer;
Apple Farmers -
These young experts take very special care of our heirloom apple trees that are rapidly growing along our swale. This includes watering, mulching and feeding the trees, as well as learning how to espalier a tree. Remember to give the trees a special feed of worm juice or super juice once a fortnight to help them grow super strong!
Arbour & Herb Garden Specialists -
These young experts take very special care of our arbour and herb garden. This includes watering, mulching and feeding the plants, as well as learning how to grow climbing fruit over our arbour. Remember to feed our herbs with a dose of worm juice or super juice each week!
Chicken Specialists - Year 3H
These young experts take very special care of our precious feathered friends each and every day, seeing to their daily needs. This includes checking their feed and water, cleaning their coop, giving them their daily pick in the chicken tractor and tucking them in at night!
Composters & Worm Farmers –
These young experts take very special care of our compost bins and worm farms. This includes keeping the worm farms moist and out of direct sunlight and layering the compost with a mixture of moist and dry mulch and keeping it moist.
Duck Keepers -
These young experts take very special care of our precious feathered friends each and every day, seeing to their daily needs. This includes checking their feed and water, cleaning their duck house, letting them out to roam our Perma Patch in search of bugs and grubs that might otherwise eat our harvest and tucking them in at night!

Friendship Garden Horticulturists - Year 3C
These young experts take very special care of our treasured Friendship Garden. This includes watering the plants, pulling weeds, pruning and keeping this special space an inviting place for all to enjoy!
Harvest Table Specialists - Year 2C
These young experts gather our eggs each day, cleaning them and preparing them for the harvest table. They also take responsibility for harvesting and preparing our produce each fortnight, or on an as needs basis, to share with our community through 'The Villa Harvest Table.'
Juice Bar Barristers -
These young barristers pay extra special attention to our 'Juice Bar', ensuring that our 'super juice' is regularly stirred and the desired ingredients are added and mixed. They also keep an eye on the worm farms, filling the worm juice bottles at least once a week.
Lavender Farmers -
These young experts take very special care of our lavender hedge. This includes regularly watering the lavender bushes, keeping them moist by mulching them with a good layer of pea straw and using our amazing worm juice or super juice to give them a fantastic boost once in a while.
Rhubarb & Strawberry Patch Farmers -
These young experts take very special care of our strawberry and rhubarb crops. This includes regularly watering the crops, keeping them moist by mulching them with a good layer of pea straw and topping up the manure every once in a while to give the plants a good feed.
Spud Farmers -
These young experts take very special care of our potato crops which are growing in the tyre wall. This includes regularly watering the crops, keeping them moist by keeping the pea straw mulch nice and thick and using our amazing worm juice our super juice to give them a food boost once in a while.
