Waste Management Action Plan:-
- Bin Systems –
Each classroom has five clearly labelled bins
to help us with our waste and recycling efforts.
Please encourage one another to use these bins thoughtfully
to increase Reducing, Reusing & Recycling within our school!
Here are some tips to help you out:
- please remember to place a sheet of old paper/newspaper in the bottom of your bins,
this will help to keep them cleaner.
- small white reusable buckets have been provided for chicken scraps
(Please check the label before placing waste into the bucket,
there is a lot of contaminated watse entering the chicken coop!)
The Waste & Recycling Team will be there to help Classroom Bin Monitors empty their waste
responsibly at 1:45p.m. on a Wednesday and Friday afternoons when signalled by the 'Curious
George 3R's'song.
Please send your Classroom Bin Monitors to the Lower Oval at this time with their bin/bucket.
Each classroom has a set of Waste Management Cards in a plastic zip lock bag. Please ensure these are hung by your door, for easy access.
Bins and buckets will be checked from contamination before being emptied into the correct wheelie bin/red tub. The Waste & Recycling Team will give you a verbal indicator of the condition of your bin.
It is the Classroom Bin Monitor's responsibility to pass this information back to their class by hanging the correct card above their bin once they have returned.

If you have any further questions regarding the Bin Systems, please don't hesitate to ask.
Our Waste Warriors are only too happy to help and would gladly come to your classroom and talk to the students and walk them through the waste management and disposal process.
