Our Learnscapes...
Here at St. Francis Xavier Primary School we are committed to making learning accessible to all within our community, and that’s why ‘LeArNsCaPeS’ have become such an important part of our learning and teaching.
Our Unique Learnscapes
What are LeArNsCaPeS?
Learnscapes are designed to develop educationally as well as sustainably. Here at Villa we approach the designing and redesigning of our school grounds in a way that fosters both learning and the environment, enhancing cross-curriculum learning.
Why LeArNsCaPeS?
Their purpose is to promote and extend environmental awareness, by presenting biodiversity as the basis for environmental conservation and ecologically sustainable development. They provide a place for students can safely engage and interact with their surrounding environment, where educational, environmental and social outcomes that reflect the character of the community are alive.
Our LeArNsCaPeS are designed to have a “calming effect” on classes, by invoking deeper relationships between students, their teachers, the wider community and Mother Earth while empowering future generations to become competent and involved caretakers of the planet for the next millennium.
