The Year Four Journey...
The students of Year Four have continued to grow in environmental awareness as they work collaboratively as scientists, monitoring, testing and exploring our local waterways.
Our Year Four Journey thus far...
Semester 1, 2014
The students of Year Four have worked collaboratively in Harmony Dreaming to deepen their knowledge of and appreciation for the unique environment found on Earth as they endeavour to become well informed and responsible custodians. In first term the students immersed in opportunities to work in the fields of geography and climatology.
This included exploring the Earth’s axis, tilt and the affects these have on our everyday lives.
This term, with the help of the Waterwatch Program, the students have extended their understanding of healthy water and have conducted experiments to determine the health and quality of our school waterways. This has lent itself to the exploration of this year’s United Nations observance, as 2013 marks the International Year of Water Cooperation. The students have gained new insight into this precious resource, such as water distribution, water management and supporting healthy rivers, in an effort that they too may become more conscientious water users.
